The dream
O Lugar was a long dream of the family. There is an entrepreneurship spirit that runs through several generations, with different passions, but all having in common the love for nature and the desire to nurture the people around us.
Here you can get in touch with nature on it’s wildest forms. You can hear the dogs barking, the roosters in the morning and the birds singing. These stimulus make us want to go out and discover this unspoiled nature around us.
This guesthouse was created, by Inês and Pedro, with the idea of receiving our guests like an old friend, to whom we advice the best experiences.
The nature’s calling
We hope that our love for design, simple, clean, and bright aesthetics is seen throughout the house.
Our love for good food can be seen in the breakfast served in the living room or in the balconies, with bread from our grandparents' bakery, honey from Pedro’s brother's bees, sweets, marmalade, and fresh cheese from Alentejo, all choosen like it was for our family gatherings.

The House
Kitchen
In our kitchen you can use the fridge, kettler and coffee maker. You can make some small meals, like salads and sandwichs but cooking is not permitted.
Living Room
The breakfast is served in the living room or in the balconies, in a common table. We have some books and curated magazines for you to read, you can also find some board games, or socialize with other guests.

O Lugar is the perfect place for those looking to escape from the stress, in a friendly environment in one of the most typical villages of the Vicentine Coast.
We have the perfect location for those who want to explore the walking trails of Rota Vicentina, which run through the steep cliffs of the Southwest Alentejo, or enjoy the world-renowned beaches nearby.
O Lugar is located in the village centre, in one of the quietest street, just two minutes walking distance from the historic Marquês de Pombal square and the bus station. We don’t have private parking, but it is easy to park in our street or in the public parking just 100 meters away. The nearest beach is 5min walking distance, so you can give your car a rest on your holidays.
